Debut Single release for The Rock And Roll Wall Of Death

The Rock and Roll Wall of Death: “Catholic Stations”

This is the debut solo single release by The Rock and Roll Wall of Death.  “Catholic Stations” is fuzzy, hypnotic and overflows with static.  Reminiscent of early Mercury Rev – with maybe a touch of Stone Roses – it’s a pure, reflective expression of wonder and doubt and joy. It will swirl in your head for days.

It’s out on free stream, paid download and vinyl single on 16th June 2014. Download and vinyl editions will include b-side “Ambient Fields”.

The band featured on ‘The White Single’ in December 2013 alongside label-mates Rockhard Garçons. More tracks will be released during 2014 with live dates planned in the autumn.

The Rock and Roll Wall of Death is the latest incarnation of outsider artist Marc Johnson, formerly of cult Brighton punk rock band The Fuck You Planet Earth.

A man who has abandoned half a dozen different sounds he’d worked on for years because they became fashionable before he was satisfied with what he’d done. Musical partner and collaborator Laurence Downes adds his trademark driven drumming.

The Rock And Roll Wall Of Death is in no way intended to be ironic. It’s what Marc thinks a band should sound like.
