7″ out soon from Athens, GA band Easter Island

Formed by brothers Ethan and Asher Payne in 2010, Easter Island creates panoramic, post-rock inspired dream pop.  Behind the wall of towering drums, glassy guitars, and the forceful tide of synthesizers, hide soft-spoken melodies, tender harmonies, and understated musings on the subtle yet visceral moments in life.

The new 7″ vinyl reflects a fresh start for the band in several ways.  It’s the first time the band has released vinyl, and it’s also the first time the band has worked with a producer outside of Easter Island.  Teaming up with Andy LeMaster (Bright Eyes, Azure Ray, Now It’s Overhead) gave the band a much needed breath of fresh air from the insular atmosphere of self-producing.  Andy exposed elements of Easter Island’s sound that they’d always been aware of but could never fully articulate.  It shows with the new material, as there is a freshness and clarity to the sounds, paired with the emotional maturity of a band that’s had growing pains and continues to move forward.  In addition to a new body behind the boards, Easter Island has a new man at the kit, with the addition of former Modern Skirts drummer John Swint taking the helm for a departing Patrick Ferguson.
