New Album and Video from Linda Draper

Brooklyn-based artist Linda Draper releases video for “Hollow” single

Linda Draper presents “Hollow,” the first music video from her seventh album, Edgewise, scheduled for release on May 21st.   The haunting song is the result of a conversation that Linda overheard on an airplane.  A mother was discussing how her step-son needed to give up his dream of becoming a writer, saying he needed to “get it out of his system.”

Yes, step-moms of the world, life as an artist is risky, but a risk worth taking, even unknowingly at a video shoot. The clip for “Hollow” was shot on beautiful Montauk Point at the tip of Long Island, NY.

“I stood a few feet away from the edge of a cliff during this shoot,” Draper explains of the video. “I only noticed the sign stating ‘Stay Back! Cliffs Compromised Due To Erosion!’ afterward.”  Of the new album, Draper explains, “With Edgewise, I feel myself returning to the roots that originally sparked my enthusiasm for music,” referring to her childhood growing up in a musical household with parents and siblings who are all musicians (father Frederick Draper is a classical guitar virtuoso who studied with Andres Segovia.)
