Fire Records lets loose another three Robert Pollard releases for 2012

Guided By Voices – The Bears For Lunch

Not content with consummating his new relationship with Fire Records with two creditable classic line-up Guided By Voices reunion albums (Let’s Go Eat The Factory and Class Clown Spots A UFO) and a low-key yet likeable solo album (Mouseman Cloud) already in 2012, Robert Pollard returns for the latter end of the year with no less than more three full-length releases for the same label.

First up is another Robert Pollard solo LP, entitled with typical cryptic eccentricity as Jack Sells The Cow, on 17th SeptemberYou can listen to the garage-psyche shaped “Who’s Running My Ranch” from the album over at Soundcloud.

Secondly, along comes a compilation from Pollard’s now-defunct Boston Spaceships side-project (which featured collaborations with Wire’s Colin Newman, J. Mascis and Steve Wynn).  Choicely picked from material previously released between 2008 and 2011 – but not easily available in the UK and Europe – the non-succinctly named The Greatest Hits Of Boston Spaceships: Out Of The Universe By Sundown appears on October 1st.

And finally, comes a third new album from the recently reformed early-‘90s incarnation of Guided By Voices, in the form of The Bears For Lunch. Available from November 12th, the record completes the trilogy started by Let’s Go Eat The Factory and Class Clown Spots A UFO, promising more new songs from co-pilot Tobin Sprout amongst its 19 tracks compressed into 43 or so minutes.
