Koen Holtkamp and Bredon Andregg AKA Brooklyn’s sonic sculptors, Mountains, recently released the wonderful new LP, Etching. This was the official release of a live recording that was originally sold exclusively as a CDR on their last tour. The band re-sequenced the music to fit more appropriately on the LP format and issued it in a limited run of 1000 copies. Each LP jacket is hand-stamped and unique.
Etching was recorded in the early winter months of 2009 in Brendon’s studio. The whole recording is in real time with no overdubs. The tracks are an early version of the band’s live set from their spring Choral tour. Upon it’s release, Choral quickly sold out and has since exhausted it’s second pressing as well.
